The Château de Glérolles vineyards are situated in the Saint-Saphorin appellation in Lavaux. The surface is close to 5 hectares (50000m2). Our vineyard rests on sloping banks that dive into the Léman Lake.

We have reserved our best terrasses for each of the grapes that constitute our range, Chasselas, Pinot Noir, Humagne Rouge, Gewürtzraminer, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and other new grapes perfectly adapted to the terroir.

The vine is planted on terrasses which are consolidated with large walls warmed by the sun. These constructions reflect their heat as well as the light reflected by the lake (like 3 suns) and create a remarkable climate for an exceptional maturation of the grapes. Consequently, the vine, which is tightly attached to the steep side of the hill must be cultivated by hand as no machines can be used on this ground. In these dry soils, the vine must go very deep down to reach water as well as the most noble elements allowing it to grow. It is how the grapes get the most racy and concentrated savours and rich aromas typical of this region.

Our predecessors shaped this magnificent scenery in order to create an open-air model in the domain of wine producing.

We are particularly attentive to the crown of small terrasses which gird the Château de Glérolles, and which is the source of our “Réserve” year after year.

Other balconies situated not far from the castle have poetic names such as : Planètes, Chapponnaires, les Fosses, Gotterause or Bourèche. These balconies are also cultivated in the same way as the terrasses.
